Rupert - Artists in Residence is part of a trilogy series that explores the lifestyles of several East Kent artists who are all approaching their middle years, and are still struggling to live the alternative dream. It privileges the audience to an insight of the life of the stereotypical 'garret artist’ and proves that they do actually still exist. We explore what motivates them to go on, and why they are so determined not conform to society’s consumerist aspirations. It asks If and When, and Should someone give up their dreams to conform to a proper job - like we are supposed to.

Since filming, Rupert suffered a stroke on May Day 2008 and is slowly recovering in hospital from a three month coma.
